i work in security — the part of the job that’s mostly pattern recognition. watch how a thing normally behaves. notice the moment it stops. ask what the gap is hiding.
that habit doesn’t switch off at the end of the day.
a deflection in a family argument has a shape. so does a story someone tells about themselves a little too smoothly. so does the one i tell about myself. same read, pointed somewhere less convenient.
this site is those two directions.
mindsecset is the craft side. security and ai notes, attacker tradecraft, lab writeups, the occasional thing i broke and what it cost to understand it.
knowthebetter is the other side. what turns up when the system being read is me — doubt, guilt, the stories that hold and the ones that quietly don’t.
there’s also stillness, which is just somewhere to breathe. no reading required.
i’m not writing from the far side of any of this. i’m writing from inside it, while it’s still unresolved — that’s the vague part, and i’ve stopped treating it as a flaw. certainty is usually just a story that hasn’t been tested yet.
